Importing e-journal holdings

E-journal holdings are imported from Serials Solutions on a weekly basis by the Bindery/Check-in clerk. Her procedures are posted on the Technical Services site at http://www.oswego.edu/library_department/ts/staff/serials/ejournal_import.pdf

Notes

• The central piece of the procedure is the E-holdings Upload macro, called from the "Upload E-journal holdings" button on the Main Menu form.
• After the upload is complete, the clerk selects "Compact and Repair Database" from the Tools -> Database Utilities menu. Because the macro involves importing a very large table that is deleted after the matching titles are selected, compacting the database removes several MB of wasted space from the file.
